The museu de Santa Clara de Gandía is located in the building of the ancient Hospital of Sant Marc, alongside the medieval walls of the city. This medieval-style architecture, acquired the current appearance after reforms promoted by the Dukes Juan de Borja Enríquez de Luna, grandson of papa Alejandro VI, and his son, san Francisco de Borja.Por regards to the Royal Monastery of Santa Clara, this is an institution formed by Sisters of closure following the reform of santa Coleta de Corbie, since its re-founding in the 15th century. They are based on compliance with the first rule set by santa Clara and santa queue constitutions, so are also known as colettine or barefoot.
